He briefly talks about his personas there too. I also highly recommend watching the Red Bull Music Academy interview with DOOM. Recommended song: DANGERDOOM - The Mask (feat. The album is titled The Mouse & The Mask and I definitely recommend it if you are new to DOOM. This is definitely the most accessible (especially if you have any sort of knowledge/connection to the Adult Swim shows from 2006 that were in heavy rotation, like SeaLab 2021, Space Ghost, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force). And from there I branched out into the main DOOM albums. This is the first album I listened to and got into by DOOM. There is also DANGERDOOM which was an Adult Swim commissioned project by Danger Mouse and DOOM. Two or so years later I listened to it (after listening to all other things DOOM) and I instantly fell in love. What I find amazing about this album is that when I first listened to it in high school I thought it was boring trash. The lyrics and features are mindblowingly awesome.

The production (all Madlib) is mouthwateringly delicious. This album is in my top ten albums of all time, much less my top ten hip-hop albums. There is also the infamous Madlib/DOOM project entitled Madvillain through which the album Madvillainy was released. Recommended song: King Geedorah - The Fine Print

This album has some of my favorite DOOM samples (as far as TV clips and the like goes). DOOM has less than five verses on the entire album (and I think the album is maybe 40 or so minutes long) but the production is all DOOM and the guest appearances are so fantastic. The only album under this name is Take Me To Your Leader. King Geedorah is about a monster from space viewing humanity. Spacey than the DOOM joints.Ī small project came in the form of King Geedorah when DOOM was a part of the Monsta Island Czars (which was a collection of rappers who took on Godzilla-inspired rap names to put out material). They're a bit easier to swallow lyrics wise and production wise. They don't seem to have the great leaps in logic and the sort of odd stream-of-consciousness that the major DOOM releases have. They're both, in my opinion, fantastic albums. Under the Viktor Vaughn pseudonym you have Vaudeville Villain and Venemous Villain. The Vaughn albums are usually produced by people other than DOOM. There is Viktor Vaughn who just seems like your typical rap cat. It's in the same vain as the previous DOOM albums with primarily his own production rappin' about being the supervillain.Īfter DOOM, there are other personalities. They're albums about the supervillain.ĭOOM (as a continuation of the MF DOOM moniker, he just dropped the MF because he thought it was too formal) has released the album Born Like This. Production is primarily by himself and he features some rappers that are lesser known (even today). MF DOOM/DOOM has put out Operation: Doomsday, the first album under that name back in '99 and MM.FOOD in 2004. The third disc is the instrumentals from the KMD album Bl_ck B_st_rds and the other two are various instrumentals used on his solo albums (and I think maybe even some from the Monsta Island Czars album).Īs far as rapping goes MF DOOM (and now, DOOM) is his main moniker. It's a 3 disc collection of a lot of his production. As a result the only albums that have the Metal Finger moniker are his Special Herbs & Spices tapes-which are instrumental albums. He's only Metal Fingers when's producing. ⇒ search reddit for more MF DOOM ⇐ Discography Send us a message if you know of other projects.
